Learning about our family in Year 1

Dear parents,

These past weeks we have been working in the family members.

We have sung while we learnt some of the family members, played some card and memory games, done lots of interactive activities, and, by the end of the week, everyone drew and presented their family to the rest of the class (it’s incredible how fast they learn!).

These 2 weeks we are going to learn more phonics. The sounds they can link together to read are:

GROUP 1: S-A-T-P-I-N

GROUP 2: C-K-E-H-R-M-D

GROUP 3: G-O-U-L-F-B

And we will start with the /AI/ sound too.

Let’s rock, Year 1!

Take care,

Year 1: body and face parts

Hi, everyone!

These past weeks we have been learning about the different head and body parts. What an amazing interest and knowledge  they have!!!!

We sang some funny songs about the different parts of the human body and the face, then we also played some guessing and word games. Year 1 is learning fast.

Each day we study phonetics and reading related to the vocabulary that we are ought to according to the planning. In this case, our days pass by widening their knowledge about face and body parts.

Enclose we attach some links for them to practice, as well as a link with the 42 phonics to be danced and sang at home.

We enjoy dancing «Head, Shoulder, Knees and Toes» too!

Have a nice week and see you soon!

Year 2

Dear families,

These past weeks our children have been learning about their own face and body widdening their previous knowledge. They have also been revising phonics and reading in English. AI/OU/EE/OA/IE… step by step they are building a word of association of sounds without even realising.

We´ve been describing monsters for the last few days in year 2, designing our own monster and asking our peers about their monster: «How many eyes has it got?» «How many heads has it got?»SSee

We will continue working on this topic for a few more days as we are really willing to learn in Year 2.

See you soon,

Lola and Nina

Green class: parts of the face and body

Hello everyone!

Though we still have about a week working on this topics, I wanted to let you know how fun it is to learn about sounds and phonics in English. They now can say words with «S», «A» and «T» sounds. Besides this, they have also learned the different parts of the face and body.

We´ve been learning about the parts of the body through the bean bag song. We sing and dance, carrying the bean bag on our head, our shoulder, our foot, our leg, our back and our arm. It´s lots of fun when we try to sing and dance at the same time!

They had real fun singing and dancing some body songs, but what they really loved is to play Simon Says while they learned some body parts and some actions related to them («Simon says ‘Touch your nose‘!, etc.)

See you soon,

Lola

Year 2

Hello, everyone!

This week, we have continued focusing on the English phonics and sounds, especially the Tricky words.

We also sang and danced a lot to the song of the Alphabet!

By the end of the week, we put into practise what we had learned by having conversations with our schoolmates.

Let’s practise at home!

See you soon!
