This is my house, my big, big house…

Dear parents,

These past weeks we are leaning the different parts of the house and the furniture we can find in it. We played a lot of games in the class, the best way to learn even without realizing it! These kids are incredible and soooooo dynamic and time flies thanks to that in our English classes.

We have linked our previous knowledge about the members of the family to this new topic, which helped us to feel more comfortable and self-confident.

We have also designed a huge house outside using chalks, in our playground, taking advantage of sunny days in Granada.

We share with you this cute song that they really looooooove (they even sing something like “this is my house, my SMALL, SMALL house” as the girl is giant compared to the house… hahahaha).

Happy cultural week to y’all!

Year 2

Hello dear families!

We hope you have enjoyed your weekend. Year 2 has started like rockets!

They already know a lot of the 42 sounds of the English phonetic system, but they are also acquiring a good reading speed and comprehension. We had really busy weeks in Year 2 English this months!

We started reviewing our classroom rules and we are sure they will remember this funny video as they have loved it in class.

We have also worked in the topic of the European languages as we celebrated the European Day of Languages in Alquería at the end of September.

We have had such a good time singing along this song 🙂

After that, our next topic was the house and the furniture we could find there. Our kids have learned a lot about that while playing, singing and enjoying English classes.

They have made their own dice to play and we have used them to start writing our firsts sentences in English. Such a hard work!

Besides this, they have been really into Halloween mood and costumes. They claim for more information about Halloween and its traditions. It is not easy but we think they got most of the story.

Hope it’s not too late for you to take a peek at some of the songs we have enjoyed in English class.

Finally, since last week, we are working on our current topic: the Autumn.

We will keep you in the loop!

What rooms are in your house?

Year 2, you have been doing a great job this week learning about the HOUSE in English class.

We hope you will share our activities with your family (comparte nuestras actividades con tu familia)…our house cube (el dado de la casa), songs and videos, and maybe you can even practice your PRESENTATION about your house with your families.   (La semana que viene seguiremos con las presentaciones de la casa!)

Here are some resources to help you remember all we are learning:

And now, a SUPER CHALLENGE!  Click on this video to add even more words to your vocabulary about the house.  (Haz clic en el video abajo para jugar y realizar un super desafío y aprender los muebles… a ver cuantos sois capaces de recordar en clase 😉

And finally, we wish you a HAPPY LONG WEEKEND (asi se llama «puente» en inglés!)  We are sending you this song to help you dance and celebrate!
