GREEN CLASS

Hello everybody!

It’s Lola again, I hope you are well!

These past weeks have been amazing getting to know your kids!

We now know  each other very well as we spend a lot of time together during the week for our English classes and I see them in the park every day, as well.

Below is a summary for you of what we have learned from the end of February in the Green Class.

We started our connection during the Carnival week at Alqueria and we made our own animal masks to dress up!

We have also revised the numbers that we previously knew and we also learned new ones until 20 through different games and songs. They love to sing along!

We have played a bingo game and we also done a «number hunt». We had a good time!

Also,  we have been using Jolly Phonics to learn and practice the letters sound in English and they love to sing the songs related to these sounds while doing the actions!

We are even able to recognize some of the sounds and to turn them into letters, wow!!

Our kids on the Green Class have built a di with the sounds of the 1st Group and played a game using it.

We use Jolly Phonics when we have difficulties with a particular sound or word in English to make it easier to our little learner ears!

Our next topic was a very interesting story about a Brown Bear. He sees a loooooot of things, including a teacher! It make us laugh at each time that we read aloud the book together.

We have played role games with some head bands and done a play using puppets. It has been so much fun!

See you soon,

Lola

ORANGE CLASS

Hello dear families!

We have been so busy during last weeks that I have not had time to come here to the blog, all my excuses! I spend all my time caring for our little learners.

During these past weeks, children in the Orange Class have been learning a lot about the Three Little Pigs.

We have read the story together and we watched a video with the story once we knew it. We have a lot of fun with this wolf on his car!

Our kids have also built their own three houses using the materials that we  collected from our playground (straw, little sticks and some homemade «bricks» using playdough 😉).

We have also played many funny games related to the story and, of course, we sang and danced a lot!

We then started our following topic: parts of the body! They have learned a laaarge number of body and face parts and we have played many games with songs and flashcards. These kids are amazing!

They love to sing along these songs and dance and dance and dance!

See you soon!

RED CLASS

Hello families!

I hope you are well! It is been a while since our last communication, but your kids are my priority!

During lasts weeks we have learned and played a lot!

We have been learning the shapes and playing many fun games related to this topic. The kids on the Red Class have also made shapes with their own bodies and we have had such a good time while playing!

After that, we  designed our own monsters and revised the colours and the parts of the body!

We  decided how many eyes, mouths, ears and noses our monsters were going to have by rolling a die.

Following the monster creation, the Red Class has been completely  immersed in an exciting fantasy world along with princesses, dragons, knights, ogres and castles!

This is been our favourite story and the class  decided to dress up in order to do a play! The result was amazing, bravo!

See you soon!

Lola

Halloween has passed and our little ones are still asking for related songs. In Year 1 we have been working on parts of the house and next week they will be presenting on their bedrooms.

Here you have some resources to help them with their presentations:

En Segundo de EPO se están trabajando las partes del cuerpo y ¡hemos podido hasta bailar con ellos! Les entusiasma bailar las canciones de Head,  Shoulders, Knees and Toes, sobre todo porque ésta no es la versión tradicional a la que estaban acostumbrados:

In Year 2 we are working on body parts and ¡we could even dance with them! They love dancing to Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, specially since this is not the typical dance our children are used to:

Os dejamos otros recursos sobre las partes del cuerpo:

We leave other resources about body parts:

¡Feliz aprendizaje!

In this First Cycle of Primary Education we not only learn English, but we also play bingo together (on body and house parts), we dance hip hop and rap to English music and even assemble impossible houses!

Soon it will be Thanksgiving. Even though Thanksgiving is not celebrated in our countries, we will teach our children how it is celebrated in the English-speaking countries. We will also try to go over all that we are thankful for.

Happy learning!
