We have included a few more bugs in our repertoire – ants, butterflies, spiders (well, Incy Wincy is an old friend), not forgetting ladybugs. We also watched «The Very Hungry Caterpillar» so check it out.

The Red class have finished their masks and we are now working on tails, to match their masks of course. Time was spent observing tails of wild animals, focusing on colours and patterns. Below is an example of their work.

In year 2 we are learning to describe the whereabouts of different bugs. We have worked on the vocabulary of elements you find in the garden and prepositions of position, thus children are forming sentences similiar to the following:
