Orange Class, Red Class and Green Class: Preparing the visit to the farm

Dear parents,

I make this post with the purpose to get the children involved in their learning and practicing vocabulary. These past weeks we have been preparing for their different trips to the countryside. Although the topic is the same, the activities and resources are different according to the levels and class.

Orange class: songs, books…relate to the topic. Discrimination and drawing. Getting to know the sounds.

Red class: books, songs, interpretation, baby animals and sounds the they make. Let’s draw a farm!

Green class: role plays, vocabulary, songs, drawing, description of animals and guessing «Who is Who?» (but with animals). Introduction of English sounds and blending sounds to guess the word.

Next week we will prepare our suitcase with the right clothes and objects.

Red Class: Spring vocabulary and The Very Hungry Catterpilar

Dear parents,

What a lovely weather we are having! Spring has come to share its changes with us and to make us enjoy the colours, smells, flowers, greenery and bugs.

To introduce the topic, I have chosen the book: «The Very Hungry Catterpillar». This way we have practiced the days of the week, food, and the transformation a catterpillar goes through to turn into a butterfly. They were delighted.

In addition to this, Easter is close in time and we have been hunting chocolate eggs in the garden and learnign some Easter vocab.

Enjoy the holidays!

Red Class: Wild Animals

Dear parents,

After the great Carnival Party, we came back to class to learn the different names of wild animals. We ended up making a common poster with animals and decoration of the jungle.

Estimados padres:

Después de la Fiesta de Carnaval, volvemos a clase para aprender los animales salvajes. Hemos concluido el proyecto con un poster comunitario de creación casera tanto en flora como en fauna.

Red Class: Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Dear parents,

These past weeks we have being learning about the classic tale «Goldilocks and the 3 Bears». We have watched the tale, we have performed the theatre, we have learned that we must obey our parents if we don’t want to be in trouble. Related to the tale, I have taught them to distinguish between BIG,MEDIUM and SMALL.

Estimados padres:

Red Class: The Shapes

Dear parents,

Our children have started this second term with lots of energy and really interested in learning. The topic this two weeks has been «The Shapes». For this purpose, I have used a book about the shapes we can find on a daily basis and everywhere, we have painted with plasticine, we have made houses with colourful sticks, and we have also learned to make all the shapes with our hands and fingers… So much fun!!

Estimados padres:
