Here´s the chant that we´re learning in the Red Class:

Ésta es la rima que estamos aprendiendo en la Clase Roja.

Welcome back, everyone! We hope you had a good summer break. We start our formal English teaching on Monday, September 14th. We are looking forward to starting a new school year at Alquería. We are welcoming new classmates and a new English and French teacher: Cathy. You will get to know her in Year 1, Year 2, Red Class and Green Class. Our English teacher in the Orange Class will be Almudena.

¡Bienvenidos a todos! Esperamos que hayáis tenido unas buenas vacaciones de verano. Empezamos nuestro programa de Inglés el lunes, día 14 de septiembre. Estamos deseando empezar un nuevo curso escolar en Alquería. Este año damos la bienvenida a nuestra nueva profesora de inglés y francés: Cathy. La conoceréis en las clases de 1º y 2º, así como en las clases roja y verde. En la clase naranja nuestra profesora será Almudena.

FOREST AND SNOWSTORM

The Red class have been out looking at trees in the garden. We have collected sticks and leaves. On our return to class, we drew trees with crayons, concentrating on the colours we saw. We used whit glue to stick the leaves and the twigs that we had collected. That´s all part of the work on the book «We´re going on a bear hunt».

La clase roja han estado mirando a los arboles en el jardín. Nos hemos fijado en los colores de los árboles y hemos recogido palos y hojas. De vuelta a clase dibujamos arboles con ceras duras y utilizamos cola blanca para pegar palitos y hojas.  Este trabajo formará parte de  del decorado del teatro que estamos preparando sobre el libro » Vamos a buscar un oso».

We´ve also made «snowstorms» using blue card and cotton wool.

También hemos hecho «la tormenta de nieve» usando cartón azul y algodón.snowstorm

STUDY IN BROWN

The children in the Red class went outside to collect earth. Back in the class we mixed the earth with water and made our own mud. The results are shown below.. Once again, our inspiration came from the  mud «squelch, squerch, squelch, squerch»in the book We´re Going on a Bear Hunt.

Los niños y niñas de la clase roja salieron fuera a buscar tierra. De vuelta en la clase, mezclamos la tierra con agua e hicimos nuestro propio barro. Los resultados están expuestos arriba… Otra vez, nuestra inspiración vino del barro «squelch, squerch, squelch, squerch» del libro Vamos a buscar un oso.
