Time flies and so our kids in the Orange Class. Even though some of them didn’t know how to handle with this teacher who speaks «very, very weird» (their own words, jaja), each lesson goes too fast and they are true sponges!
The Orange Class is amazing!
During last weeks we have been very busy by singing and dancing a lot while learning colours, some actions and knowing cute animals for Halloween.
We have even made a bus in the class!
We have been learning a very nice finger game which helped us to sing the Incy Wincy Spider song.
As our Autumn Party approaches, we have spent our English class playing while learning about the colours during this season and about the weather.
We will be learning a lot about toys during next weeks.
The goal of this post is to welcome you all to our languages blog at Alquería and to inform you that we will have recurring information about the English and French classes via this blog about every 2 weeks.
For those who are new parents, my name is Lola and I am the English teacher from the blue class to Year 2.
Welcome to school one more time! I am delighted to have your kids back. Our children have grown soooo fast this summer. A special and warm hello to those new parents this year at Alquería. Nice to meet you all.
This year we are also welcoming a new English teacher at school, Nina. You will get to know her in Year 1 and Year 2, although she is the English teacher from Year 3 to Year 6 too.
Here the last entry of this school year and I just wanted to thank you for letting us be part of your kids’ learning journey.
During the last two weeks we have been focusing on the the topic of SUMMER, and … now that it has officially arrived since yesterday… enjoy, play, swim, eat some ice-creamand be happy!
Below our favourite summer song to help Mr Sun in appearing during these days (we have even invented a dance for that and it was soooooo funny!) and a «yummy» song about ice creams!
I hope you are doing well! We are almost entering the final stretch of the school year and our little learners from the Orange Class have enjoyed all the activities during the last weeks.
We did not want to miss the opportunity to benefit our garden and park to learn and study the spring and the bugs and all the natural events that the spring brought to us.
We played games, made role-plays and we had to “fish” the insects as well in the class! (Fake insects, by the way).
We also made a spring scavenger hunt in our park! It was so funny and we found out many spring elements such as puddle, ants, leafs and sunshine.
Here some songs they love to mimic and dance:
Then we had to prepare ourselves to visit the school farm so we started learning more about the farm animals in English: sheep, cow, pig, rabbit, duck, cat, horse, dog…
We played several games to identify which animals live in the farm and which animals live in the jungle or in the sea…
We read some books about farm animals and sing along many songs!
Our Orange class is willing to learn, it is incredible!
Old McDonald’s farm has also been a central key to us during this topic so we sing his song along together during all our English lessons. We also had a “stick farm” to hide the farm animals inside and let the other kids in the class guess our hidden animal using sounds! It was really funny!
Steve and Maggie’s videos seem to be so interesting for our kids so we used this one to learn more facts about farm animals:
During the next weeks, we will be focus on the summer topic, getting ready for our holidays 🙂
And… Last but not least… we are glad to announce you that we have started our learning about phonics in English while dancing and singing along with the song below!

We love start or finish our English lessons with this song and playing fun games while learning how to pronounce the phonics in English!
We have been so busy during last weeks that I have not had time to come here to the blog, all my excuses! I spend all my time caring for our little learners.
During these past weeks, children in the Orange Classhave been learning a lot about the Three Little Pigs.
We have read the story together and we watched a video with the story once we knew it. We have a lot of fun with this wolf on his car!
Our kids have also built their own three houses using the materials that we collected from our playground (straw, little sticks and some homemade «bricks» using playdough 😉).
We have also played many funny games related to the story and, of course, we sang and danced a lot!
We then started our following topic: parts of the body! They have learned a laaarge number of body and face parts and we have played many games with songs and flashcards. These kids are amazing!
They love to sing along these songs and dance and dance and dance!
