We have just started a new unit about fruit in Year 1. We will learn the names of some new fruits, and use the vocabulary that we already know in little dialogues like:

«Do you like melon? / Yes, I do. / No, I don´t.»
We have also introduced a very catchy song: «Fruit Salad»

Acabamos de empezar una nueva unidad sobre la fruta en Primero. Vamos a aprender los nombres de algunas frutas nuevas y vamos a usar el vocabulario que ya conocemos en diálogos como:

«¿Te gusta el melón? / Sí, me gusta. / No, no me gusta.»
También hemos introducido una canción muy pegadiza: «Fruit Salad»

What´s the weather like today? That´s the topic of conversation in year1 this week and we are having some very animated conversations. You don´t have to be English to enjoy discussing the weather.
The children have made a weather wheel as shown below.

¿Como es el tiempo hoy? Este es el tema de conversación en la clase de 1º esta semana y estamos teniendo unas conversaciones muy animadas. No hace falta ser ingles/a para disfrutar charlando  sobre el tiempo. Los niños y niñas han hecho una rueda del tiempo – véase la foto de  arriba.

No os perdáis esta canción de uno de nuestros libros favoritos en la Clase de 1º. Estamos haciendo presentaciones orales con el nuevo vocabulario sobre la ropa. Cada niño sale al estrado, se presenta, dice su edad y describre qué ropa lleva puesta. Todo un éxito.

I´ve just recently returned from Australia where I attended various family events. I was keen to share some of my experiences with the children so this week, apart from continuing with our planned programme of work, we have also looked at and talked about animals in Australia.
