EASTER EGGS

Children in Year 1 and Year 2 have been decorating Easter Eggs for the last two days. We choose colours, ask for materials and work in English all the time! We decide if we are going to decorate with lines, spots, polka dots or zig-zags.
On Friday, we all went egg hunting in the garden. It was lots of fun!

Los niños y niñas de 1º y 2º han estado decorando huevos de Pascua durante esta semana. Han  trabajado exclusivamente en inglés, eligiendo los colores y pidiendo los materiales. Han trabajado el vocabulario y los elementos decorativos que iban a poner en sus huevos de Pascua: puntos, líneas, zig-zags o lunares. El viernes, hemos salido a encontrar huevos de chocolate en el jardín y ha sido muy divertido.

WE MADE A FRUIT SALAD TODAY

Monday morning in year 1 and we all listened to and sang along with the «fruit salad » song and then got busy chopping bananas and other fruits to actually make one. The preparation of the fruit salad was as enjoyable as the eating of it.

Esta mañana hemos vuelto a oír y a cantar la canción de «Fruit Salad». Después, hemos preparado la ensalada con las mismas frutas y el mismo vocabulario de acciones que aparece en la canción. Hemos disfrutado tanto preparando la ensalada como comiéndonosla. Los niños han utilizado en todo momento para comunicarse entre sí y con las profesoras.

We have just started a new unit about fruit in Year 1. We will learn the names of some new fruits, and use the vocabulary that we already know in little dialogues like:

«Do you like melon? / Yes, I do. / No, I don´t.»
We have also introduced a very catchy song: «Fruit Salad»

Acabamos de empezar una nueva unidad sobre la fruta en Primero. Vamos a aprender los nombres de algunas frutas nuevas y vamos a usar el vocabulario que ya conocemos en diálogos como:

«¿Te gusta el melón? / Sí, me gusta. / No, no me gusta.»
También hemos introducido una canción muy pegadiza: «Fruit Salad»

What´s the weather like today? That´s the topic of conversation in year1 this week and we are having some very animated conversations. You don´t have to be English to enjoy discussing the weather.
The children have made a weather wheel as shown below.

¿Como es el tiempo hoy? Este es el tema de conversación en la clase de 1º esta semana y estamos teniendo unas conversaciones muy animadas. No hace falta ser ingles/a para disfrutar charlando  sobre el tiempo. Los niños y niñas han hecho una rueda del tiempo – véase la foto de  arriba.
