Fantastic creatures visited the Green Class!

Hello everyone!

The green class shows daily how much they enjoy learning English. They really like challenges and act like “primary school children”. We are learning during this weeks about fantastic creatures and fantasy world.

They have chosen each one a fantastic creature (the choice was limited to 6 different fantastic creatures: an unicorn, a troll, an ogre, a fairy, a wizard, a princess or prince).

We each chose a fantastic creature and acted out that character using dressing up clothes and a bit of imagination. The children  have made shadow puppets of their chosen creature and we have take our time to play using the light from the projector. What a wonderful theatre!

Now that carnival is approaching, we have been revising all sorts of monsters and creepy creatures (and costumes, of course!). They love to find it useful to comprehend and decode.

Carnival, pirates and more!

Hello dear families!

I hope you are enjoying the days before our great Carnival party in Alquería… I can say the children are really excited about that!

During the last couple of weeks, the Red Class has been immersed in an exciting fantasy world along with princesses, dragons, knights, ogres and castles!

This is been our favourite story and the class  decided to dress up in order to do a play! The result was amazing, bravo!

In addition, we have had a lot of fun in our private carnival parade being princesses, cowboys, clowns, monsters, dragons… and pirates!

As you know, our kids are really engaged in letters, so we have been revising Group 1 of the synthetic phonics system and introducing little by little Group 2… I am soooo proud of them!

Enjoy our great carnival party tomorrow!

Food and more in Year 2

Hello everyone!!!

Kids in Year 2 has been starving during these weeks in English classes hahahaha and the reason is that we have been learning about food. We have been listening to  “I’m hungry!!” so many times…

They already had previous knowledge about food, so that we have widened  it. We have been emphasizing speaking in complete sentences instead of just group of words. So they have been working on explain to the rest of the classmates about their preferences and what they think is healthy or unhealthy… such an experience.

To help us with this task, we read, saw, and played with the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Besides helping us speaking with complete sentences by retelling the story, it was a vehicle to revise the days of the week and our main topic, food.

Of course, we read and shared the physical book, but here are some other resources we used to help us learn.

We hope you enjoy  these resources at home and have fun re-telling this classic story to your families!

We wish you a nice cultural week to you all!
